AU Small Finance Bank, the largest small finance bank in the country, raised ~INR 626 Cr in its maiden QIP. The deal was launched amidst extremely volatile market conditions and was priced at INR 1,251 per share. The deal witnessed strong participation from marquee foreign and domestic investors despite the stock trading near an all-time high.
The transaction was consummated in an accelerated timeline – from Kick-off to launch in ~5 weeks.
Axis Capital championed the positioning efforts for AU SFB which has transitioned from a prominent retail focused NBFC to being the largest SFB in the country today; thus helping garner demand from best-in-class QIBs (both FIIs and DIIs). Axis Capital, as sole banker to the transaction, provided end-to-end client handholding and guidance on various deal contours.
This is the 5th QIP in the BFSI sector in 2021 to have been managed by Axis Capital.
