Then & Now
Axis Capital began as ENAM Securities in 1984. ENAM soon collaborated with major industrial houses like Reliance Industries for capital market fund raises. By 1992, it had registered with SEBI - taking Infosys Technologies and Zee Entertainment public within a year. By 1997, ENAM led marquee IPOs for companies like Marico and Essar Oil, prompting the establishment of a dedicated institutional trading desk. As the millennium turned, ENAM led the first wave of tech IPOs in India, including KPIT Systems and Polaris. The next decade saw a busy divestment pipeline for the government, including IPOs of NTPC and Power Finance Corporation. By 2006, ENAM had become a full-service investment bank adding M&A and PR to its roaster and advising on transactions for Aditya Birla, JSW, and Tata.

We mobilise our business to address pressing socio-economic and ecological challenges faced by rural communities in India through our work with Axis Bank Foundation.
Through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, we reach out to economically excluded rural communities to help them achieve credible paths to sustainable livelihoods. The program focuses on diversifying income-generating opportunities, strengthening and increasing farm productivity, improving natural resource management and increasing employability and entrepreneurial skills of rural youth. This multi-faceted approach towards livelihoods enables rural communities to increase their income, gain access to credit and build their capacities to be agents of change in their own communities.

The transaction involved Endurance purchasing 51% stake in Maxwell Energy System Pvt. Ltd (Maxwell), a subsidiary of ION Energy Inc. (renowned energy tech start-up) with remaining 49% to be purchased in a phased manner over 5 years – Maxwell is engaged in the business of development, manufacturing, assembly and selling of advanced electronics in the form of battery management systems (BMS) and battery focused power distribution units for electric vehicles and energy storage systems – Endurance is one of the leading automotive component manufacturers having a diverse range of technology intensified products with operations in India and Europe. ETL is engaged in designing / engineering, manufacturing of aluminium castings, suspensions, braking systems and transmissions – Maxwell’s BMS is the first specific EV product in Endurance’s portfolio, Endurance plans to leverage Maxwell’s deep technical expertise developed over the years and its BMS deployment experience in Indian and European conditions – Endurance aims to offer its products to multiple new customers, including Indian automotive OEMs and battery pack manufacturers
